The Fugitives! exhibition will be presented at the Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent in Rivière-du-Loup from january 19th to march 26th 2023. The vernissage will take place on january 19th, starting at 5pm.

Fugitifs.ca exhibition
The Fugitives! exhibition, presented at the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec in 2019 and recipient of the Canadian Museums Association Award of Excellence, is now online! In collaboration with the Commission des Droits de la Personne et des Droits de la Jeunesse, MySmartJourney and Magnéto, you will have access to more information about the fugitives and their stories.

In collaboration with the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, Webster has written a booklet about Slavery in Canada, illustrated by Dimani Mathieu Cassendo.
Olivier Le Jeune recognized as a historic figure
Wester is proud to announce that Olivier Le Jeune, the first slave and first African to live in Canada, has just been recognized as a historic figure in Quebec. Arrived as a slave in Quebec City in 1629, this young Malagasy of about 10 years old spent his entire life there until his death in 1654.
Webster had applied for Olivier Le Jeune to be recognized as a historic figure in 2018. The following year he also published an illustrated book about him, Le Grain de Sable.

Black Canadian of the Week
Webster was named Black Canadian of the Week (February 19) by the Federation of Black Canadians.
Author of the year winner at the Gala Dynastie
Webster was honored and proud to receive the Author of the Year Award at the 2020 Gala Dynastie for the illustrated book Le Grain de Sable. He would like to thank Valmo for the illustrations and Les éditions Septentrion for their trust.

It is with great pleasure that Webster announces his new book Le Grain de Sable , or Olivier Le Jeune, the first slave in Canada.
This children book tells the story of Olivier Le Jeune, from Madagascar to Quebec city in 1629. This young boy is the first recorded slave in Canada as well as the first African to permanently live in Quebec city.
Illustrated by ValMo and published by les éditions Septentrion, the book is available in every bookstore!

April 10th to september 2nd: Fugitives! exhibition at the Musée des Beaux-Arts du Québec
From april 10th to september 2nd, Webster presents at the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec the Fugitives! exhibition about runaway slaves. Nine illustrators create the faces of 13 slaves described in advertisements published in La Gazette de Québec and La Gazette de Montréal at the end of the 18th century

February 23rd 2017: OSQ - African-American musical legacy
February 23rd 2017, during Black History Month, Quebec city's Symphonic Orchestra will play songs from Joseph Boulogne Chevalier de St-Georges, Coleridge-Taylor, Georges Gershwin, Duke Ellington and Webster. At the end of the evening, DJ Fade Wizard will play with musicians from the OSQ.
Webster will also give a lecture about Chevalier de St-Georges at the Quebec's National Museum of Fine Arts february 15th.
